About Me

My name is Dr. Virág Bognár. I am a founding member of 360 Dental Clinic and Infinity Dental Budapest, and I practice as a dentist at the latter. I completed my studies at the Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University in Budapest, graduating summa cum laude. Earning my dental degree made my childhood dream come true; ever since I was very young, I’ve wanted to help people.

I always pay exceptional attention to my patients to provide them with the best possible care and to demonstrate that dental treatment can also be a pleasant experience.
Beyond my university studies, I continuously educate myself and regularly attend specialized lectures and training sessions on the following topics: cosmetic dentistry (porcelain veneers, lifelike fillings), prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, dentures), and oral surgery and endodontics training (root canal treatment using machines and magnifying glasses).

Currently, I treat patients and enhance my patients’ smiles at my own private practice while pursuing specialized training in periodontology.

My areas of expertise include root canal treatment, cosmetic dentistry, the fabrication of dental prostheses, oral surgery, and periodontology.

Interview

How and when did you decide to become a dentist?
I first visited a dentist’s office when I was six years old, and I was so fascinated by the dental chair and all the equipment that I asked my dentist if I could sit in his chair. The experience made such an impression on me that when I got home, I happily announced to my family that I was going to heal people and become a dentist.
How is your perspective different?
Basically, my approach is that if a patient’s natural tooth can still be saved, I will recommend that treatment over extraction.
What do you focus on most during treatments?
I place great emphasis on communicating with patients and explaining their treatment in detail. It is important that patients understand what is happening and receive the best possible care in the most comfortable setting.
Why did you choose to specialize in periodontology?
After completing my university studies, I specialized in cosmetic dentistry (cosmetic fillings, restorations, and porcelain veneers), while oral surgery remained close to my heart. In such cases, a periodontology specialization is the perfect choice, as it allows the dentist to learn how to perform wisdom tooth surgery and extract teeth while also delving into the world of soft tissue procedures (gum contouring, gum tightening, bone grafting, and gum reshaping). This enables me to provide comprehensive care to my patients.
In your experience, how much do people know about the work of periodontists and about periodontal disease?
Hungarians’ knowledge or education in this area is lacking, but the Hungarian term for periodontology also contributes significantly to this. In everyday language, periodontitis is commonly referred to as gum disease or gum recession, which is a bacterial-induced inflammation of the tissues surrounding the teeth. Periodontists are the specialists tasked with treating this widespread condition (affecting one in two people).
